Privacy & Data
Last updated 12 July 2026
This is the personal website of Jaymes Wade. It touches almost no data, and never sells what little it does. In plain language, here is exactly what happens — because the law exists to protect you, not to be buried in fine print.
Who is responsible
Jaymes Wade is the data controller for this site. Questions, requests, or complaints: jaymeswadeyoga@gmail.com.
What is collected
Only what you choose to give. The single point of collection on this site is the newsletter form. When you subscribe, one thing is processed: your email address. There is no account to create, no profile assembled, and no data purchased or enriched from anywhere else.
What is not done
- No tracking cookies. No advertising pixels. No third-party analytics.
- No fingerprinting. Fonts and code are served from this domain, not fetched from outside networks.
- Your email is never sold, rented, or traded.
Because the site sets no cookies and runs no tracking, there is nothing for a cookie banner to ask you about — so there isn’t one.
The newsletter — The Ephemeris
- Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form and confirm it by clicking the link in the email that follows.
- Purpose: to send you The Ephemeris — a seasonal letter, a few times a year. Nothing else.
- Confirmation (double opt-in): after you submit, a confirmation email is sent. You are not subscribed until you click the link inside it. This protects you from being signed up by anyone but yourself.
- Processor: subscriptions are managed by beehiiv, Inc., an email platform acting on Jaymes Wade’s behalf. Your address is stored on their systems under their privacy terms.
- Retention: your email is kept until you unsubscribe or ask for it to be deleted.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like any web host, Netlify’s servers process standard technical request logs (such as IP address) to deliver pages and guard against abuse, governed by their privacy terms. These logs are not used to identify or profile you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and comparable laws, you may ask to access the data held about you, correct it, have it erased, withdraw your consent, object to its processing, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. To do any of these, email jaymeswadeyoga@gmail.com, or simply use the unsubscribe link in any issue. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Unsubscribing
Every issue of The Ephemeris carries a one-click unsubscribe link. One click, any season — and you are gone, with no hard feelings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
